What is Home Health?

Home Health is a covered Medicare benefit that allows a
beneficiary to receive skilled nursing services and certain other
health care services that you receive in your home for the treatment
of an injury or an illness.  

To get Medicare Home Health Care:
  • Your physician recommends that you need medical home
    care at home.  
  • You must also need one of the following services:  
    intermittent skilled nursing care, physical, occupational, or
    speech therapy services.  
  • Medicare states that you must be homebound
  • The home health agency must be medicare certified.
